On April 26, 2018 I underwent an amputation of my lower left leg.  I will be posting here throughout the epic journey. Feel no sadness for me for my time has come and I can move forward. For 18 years I have been in a bad relationship with my lower left leg and its time we broke it off, Literally...

please play me while reading, this is a song called Day By Day by the band The Dirty Heads. It lifts me, inspires me, drives me...

April 28, 2018

Good morning, what a long night. The nurses have been running around crazy. Just one of those nights. My new roommates equipment seems to sound buzzers every 15-20 mins. I don't know how anyone could get sleep in these places. I have to give it to them, they supply ear plugs and eye masks which at least help you to kind of relax and block it all out.

My nurse Lossi for the night worked hard to help get my pain back under control and manageable. I am excited to get up and moving again, have this drain pulled, and spend time with friends and family.

I have met some very cool people in the halls here as I move around. From a state champion field hockey coach, to a super nice man from Africa; who lost his family at age 14 & then worked his but off to come to this Country and control his own destiny. Courage and strength is all around you. Take time to talk to those around you, you never know who you are going to meet or the story they will have. I hope you all have a great day today and I will update you later!
